The Sierra Interactive Team
At Sierra Interactive, we believe that the heart of our success is not just in the technology we build, but in the people who bring it to life every day. In this month’s Sierra Spotlight, we’re doing something a little different: we’re shining a light on the entire Sierra Interactive team—a group of passionate individuals who work to support real estate professionals like you.
As a company, we’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings in the mountains of California. Today, with 60 dedicated team members—including 8 licensed real estate agents—Sierra Interactive continues to grow, evolve and deliver solutions that empower real estate teams and brokerages. Here’s a look back at our story, what makes us who we are and the values that guide our work every day.
Once Upon a Time in the Mountains
Like any great story, Sierra Interactive’s journey began with a single challenge and a bold “Yes.” It all started in the early 2000s in Mammoth Lakes, a small ski town nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. Founder Ben Peskoe was approached by a local Realtor who had noticed something groundbreaking: a real estate website in Vail, Colorado, displaying all of the area’s listings, updated daily. She asked Ben if he could create something similar. Though he didn’t yet know how to accomplish it, he confidently replied, “Yes, absolutely.”
That moment in 2003 set the wheels in motion for what would become Sierra Interactive, a company now trusted by real estate professionals across the country. Over the years, Sierra has grown, innovated and reached exciting milestones that reflect both our evolution and our commitment to solving real challenges for our clients.
Key Company Milestones
The Sierra Interactive story is marked by innovation, growth and an unwavering focus on progress:
- 2007: Sierra Interactive is officially born, and the Google Maps API integration is released, setting the stage for seamless property search experiences.
- 2013: Sierra hires its first full-time employee, laying the foundation for the team-oriented culture we value today.
- 2017: A major leap forward—Sierra transitions to a SaaS model with the launch of our backend CRM and templated Pro website, enabling scalability for our growing customer base.
- 2022: Sierra reaches another milestone through a partnership with Alpine Software Group (ASG), and Peter Maglathlin steps in as CEO to guide us into our next chapter.
- 2024: Today, Sierra Interactive proudly boasts a team of 60 employees. This year, we also launched our first brokerage-level partnerships with eXp Realty and REAL Brokerage.
From a single website to becoming an industry-leading real estate platform provider, every step of our journey has been shaped by teamwork, innovation and the trust of the real estate professionals we serve.
