Tell us about your role at Sierra Interactive and what a typical day looks like?

As the Director of Industry Relations at Sierra Interactive, my role focuses on strengthening our relationships within the real estate industry while finding innovative ways to support our clients’ growth. Since this is a new role for the company, we’re still shaping the goals and strategies to maximize its impact.

A typical day involves close collaboration with Jaycie, our Director of Marketing, and the rest of the Growth team. Right now, we’re deep into 2025 planning—mapping out the events we’ll attend, reimagining our affiliate and referral program, and curating high-value content to showcase how Sierra’s platform can empower real estate teams to thrive.

Ultimately, everything I do is centered on helping our clients succeed, because when they grow, we grow. It’s an exciting time to be at Sierra, and I’m thrilled to contribute to attracting more teams to the platform by focusing on their success.

How did you first become interested in the real estate industry, and what led you to join Sierra Interactive?

Like many agents, real estate was a second (or even third) career for me. I spent years working in tech consulting, and during the market boom of 2004–2006, my brother and I decided to explore buying an investment property. With no real estate background, I threw myself into learning everything I could. At one point, my wife said, “Why don’t you just get your license?” And that was it—the beginning of the end!

I’ve always had a passion for helping people, and real estate was the perfect fit for that. The day after I got my license, I left my job and started full-time. Fast forward 12 years—I was leading a team in New Jersey but preparing to move my family to Colorado. Knowing I’d essentially be starting my business from scratch, I began researching platforms to run my business on and quickly identified Sierra as the best option. I’ve always been drawn to technology and operations, so diving into Sierra’s tools felt natural.

A few years ago, not long after COVID, I realized I was ready for a new challenge and wanted to shift away from sales production. Customer Success and technology felt like a natural next step for me. I knew the Sierra platform inside and out, so I reached out to their Customer Experience team, connected with their leadership, and the rest is history. It’s been an incredible partnership ever since!

How do you contribute to ensuring clients receive the best service?

Delivering exceptional client service is a passion of mine and something I prioritize in every interaction. With nearly two decades of experience in the industry, I deeply understand the challenges our clients face because I’ve been in their shoes. This perspective allows me to approach their concerns with empathy and provide meaningful solutions.

Whether it’s directly resolving an issue or connecting them with the right expert on our team, my goal is always to ensure our clients feel supported and confident in their journey with Sierra. Their success is what drives me—and our entire team—every day.

What’s the most memorable trip you’ve taken, and what made it special?

Many years ago, my then-girlfriend, now wife, and I took an unforgettable trip to Thailand. It was my first time traveling to that part of the world, and the experience was a complete cultural shock—in the best way possible. Over the course of the trip, we explored six different locations, from the lush jungles of the north to the stunning beaches and islands of the south. Everywhere we went, we were struck by the incredible kindness of the people, the ease of getting around, and the amazing food. Plus, the favorable exchange rate didn’t hurt!

One of the highlights was visiting Phi Phi Island, a remote paradise without motorized vehicles, where restaurants displayed their fresh catch every day. One night, while sitting on the beach, we decided on a whim to extend our trip. The next morning, we picked a random island to explore and headed there the following day. That spontaneity, combined with the beauty of Thailand, made the trip truly special. If I were to go back, I’d pack light—it’s easier (and more fun) to pick up what you need along the way!

If you could master one musical instrument, which would it be and why?

If I could master one musical instrument, it would definitely be the Oud. My paternal grandfather, who I never got to meet, was a talented, self-taught Oud player. It’s an ancient Armenian instrument, similar to a larger lute, and I’ve always been drawn to its unique, beautiful sound.

The Oud itself is a work of art, with its bowl-shaped body made from thin strips of wood. The music it creates is so distinctive—deep, rich, and full of character. It’s easily one of my favorite sounds. Learning to play it would be an incredible way to connect with my heritage and honor my grandfather’s legacy.
