Sierra Interactive: Fully Integrated Online Real Estate Solutions
About Us
Sierra Interactive is a proven provider of web-based business systems for leading real estate offices and agents. Recognizing that the Internet is transforming how people buy and sell homes, we develop web sites that are complete communication tools -- tools that help our clients extend and enhance customer relationships.
Begun in 2001 as a small web development firm in the resort town of Mammoth Lakes, California, Sierra Interactive grew into building real estate web sites only gradually. We built our first website to dynamically integrate MLS data at the request of an existing client. That site proved so successful that we were soon contracted by other offices and agents in the region. In less than two years, expanding solely by word-of-mouth advertising, we became the web agency of choice for all of the largest real estate offices and many of the top-producing agents in the area (including Coldwell Banker, Century 21, and Re-Max).

Our first and most important commitment is to customer service, and to this day we have not lost a single one of our real estate clients.

2006 finds us based in a new location -- Louisville, Kentucky -- as we launch a significant redevelopment and upgrade of our web tools. These include our new Active Maps technology, which builds on a Google Maps interface to dynamically plot listings together on a single, interactive map, as well as the integration of AJAX to provide increased interactivity and ease-of-use.

The Role of the Internet in Buying and Selling Homes

The role of the Internet in buying and selling homes is already large and will only continue to grow. As of 2006, over 75% of home buyers made use of the Internet in their home buying process. Many brokers and agents find these figures daunting, fearing that this new technology will de-emphasize their role.

In fact, the opposite is true. As the president of the National Association of Realtors noted recently, “Buyers who use the Internet in searching for a home are more likely to use a real estate agent than non-Internet users, and consumers rely on professionals to provide context, negotiate the transaction and help with the paperwork.” He continued, "We find that the level of for-sale-by-owners is on a sustained decline and is now at a record low."

What's clear is that the use of the Internet in buying and selling homes is here to stay, and those offices and agents who stay ahead of the curve -- who embrace new technology to extend and enhance their customer relationships -- will have the most success.

We're dedicated to helping our clients fulfill that proposition.
